How does it work?

Please follow these steps and you’ll be using LightningUsenet in a few minutes.

Step 1:

Please complete the registration process.
Once your registration and payment is completed, you will receive an e-mail with login instructions.

Step 2:

Download and install these programs:

• WinRar: http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html
  What it does: All the files you will download are compressed. WinRar decompresses all the separate files and put them together for you.
  
  
• Quickpar: http://www.quickpar.org.uk/Download.htm
  What it does: In case your download is corrupt, or incomplete, Quickpar can fix your download by using the “Par-files” which often come along with your download.
  
  
• 7-Zip: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
  What it does: It does the same as WinRar, just for a different file type.
  
  
• Grabit: http://www.shemes.com/
  What it does: This program does the actual downloading for you.
  
  

Step 3:

After installing Grabit, the program will guide you through a configuration wizard. You need to enter the login details you got after completing step 1 in Grabit. It works like this:

Copy this information into the Grabit configuration wizard:

Watch out! You have 2 passwords. 1 for the website which you provided yourself 1 that consists of random characters and figures. This one is for Grabit only. You cannot use your self made password in Grabit.

Step 4:

You have now successfully installed and configured the necessary software. To start downloading, browse the web for usenet search engines and download so called "NZB files". These files are associated with Grabit and Grabit will download your desired file for you.

Once your download is complete, you will find it in the “Download Folder” in Grabit in the menu bar.
